The Caribana Festival in Crans-près-Céligny, Vaud, Switzerland started in 1990 as an opportunity for people in Switzerland to enjoy live music at the shores of Lake Léman. The event has grown over the years and changed from a free, small, local festival to an international event with 19,500 visitors in 2005.

Caribana lasts for four days (Thursday to Sunday) and offers a variety of artists. It is not, as its name suggests, an event devoted to Caribbean music.

The Pinkpop Festival or PINKPOP is a large, annual music festival held at Landgraaf, Netherlands. It is usually held on the Pentecost weekend (Pinksteren in Dutch, hence the name). Starting in1970, at Burgemeester Damen Sportpark in the town of Geleen, PinkPop is the oldest and longest running annual dedicated pop and rock music festival in the world.

Nowadays, Pinkpop is a three-day festival, from Saturday through Monday, with a 60,000 people per day capacity, and with performances on 4 separate stages. From 2006 through 2011, Pinkpop sold out six years in a row. During 44 editions, more than 2 million people have attended Pinkpop. Some 700 music acts have played at the festival.

In 1994 (the 25th edition), it was decided to sell only 60,000 tickets, to prevent overcrowding due to the popularity of the festival. In 1995, it was made into a 2-day festival. Two years later, in 1997, this was further expanded to three days.

2007 saw a spin-off, later in the year, on 11 August, called Pinkpop Classic, for an older rock audience, with bands that previously performed there in past decades. This spin-off was held again in following years, with exception of 2011, in which the organisation was not able to sign enough interesting older bands.

In 2008, Pinkpop was for the first time in its history not held on Pentecost weekend, which fell too early that year for the convenience of fans and performers alike. This was decided following the 2005 edition, in which the Pentecost weekend also fell early and therefore Pinkpop could not convince many great performers to come play at the festival. Sales were disappointing in 2005, so by shifting the 2008 festival, the organization hoped to solve these problems. Pinkpop 2008 turned out to have had the largest concert attendance to date. The dates for the 2010, 2013, 2015 and 2016 edition have been shifted as well, for similar reasons.

According to numerous media reports (including Wikinews) the Donauinselfest is Europe's biggest open-air event; with over 3 million visitors. Some 1500 volunteer assistants and visible police presence help make the Donauinselfest one of the most secure big events.

There are some 21 areas (called "islands" as well) that are normally sponsored by radio stations, newspapers and other companies. These are spread out over a 6.5 kilometer area of the total of 21 kilometer island. Musicians of an extremely broad range of genres perform.

The layout is roughly the same every year, with some stages being removed or added. The musicians also tend to come back every year, or being replaced by other ones that are popular.

To ensure safety of visitors, "house rules" were introduced in 2007 and checkpoint controls established to help control certain items (such as glass and liquor inside the festival perimeter.[2]

Food kiosks serve various national and alternative dishes including Thai, Greek, Italian, Indian, Turkish, Vegetarian and Austrian cuisine. Although all concerts are free, financial experts calculate Vienna's economy benefits from this event by almost € 40 million, due to the increased tourism

Body&Soul is a celebration of life, diversity, music, culture and the arts across three days and nights, hosted on one of Ireland’s most stunning country estates.

Every year our latest crew of Body&Soulers make the pilgrimage to this beautiful, verdant land that is transformed into a colourful festival village. It’s filled with hand-crafted stages, 15th century walled gardens, hidden forest dens, magnificent art trails and al fresco spas where the only rule is to expect the unexpected.

What began as a back garden gathering has slowly grown into an unrivalled event, where every moment is curated and every sound considered. Body&Soul is comprised of creative collectives from Ireland and abroad that have sought to push the limits and explore the fringes of how the festival mould can benefit the world around it.

We’re also dedicated to reducing our impact on the land, taking new steps each year to make the festival more sustainable. Through affecting positive change we want to continue to use the land that hosts us for many years to come, and we encourage our Body&Soulers to join in the journey.

We’re an independent festival with a heart-shaped mind and a cutting edge soul.

Secret Solstice is an Icelandic music festival. It showcases both established artists as well as exciting up-and-coming talent over the course of four days in the 24 hour midnight sun during the summer solstice. The festival is themed after the Norse religion and mythology of old and along with our side-event it’s been described as “one of the most unique events in the world”.

Outside in the courtyard, many types of refreshments are being served. From real country-style food, to thirst quenchers.
The farmhousearea is an amphitheater with the mainstage in the centre. And of course - the stage looks like a western-saloon. Small and intimate to let
the crowd and artists share the music in a unique way. All in order to keep the distance between us as small as possible.

At the top of the hill we have a refreshment place called "Green Hills ". Here you can sit and enjoy the incredible surrounding nature, a good meal, and last, but not least - listen to good music from the Green Hills-stage.

In the year 2000 the entertainment area was opened as a bar and service area. The festival audience who came to Skjåk demonstrated that they appreciated this, in a positive way. This means that we can continue to have an open bar area.

Do you want to shop ? The sales booths are in huts and sell music as well as clothes and other country effects. Everything is arranged to make you feel at home here.

The Skjaak Country Festival is arranged in an old farm area with a log house. The farm buildings were rebuilt after an avalanche in 1913. It is worthy of note that the date was the 13th of March and 13 people perished. Unique Norwegian nature frames the festival area.

Green Hills lives up to its name, surrounded by leafy trees and firs- and mountains as its nearest neighbours. A trickling stream of clear water runs past it. Yes, you can sense the smell of country from a long way off. The location is 4.4 km west of the village of Bismo. The camping area surrounds Green Hills. This area has space for about 700 units and has, everything you need, under the motto: Leave the car, let's walk, here's all we need NOW.

The OpenAir St.Gallen is one of the oldest outdoor festivals in Switzerland. It’s close to the city and it’s the second biggest festival in the German part of the country (30’000 capacity per day). The camping site is included in the festival area – no boundaries between sleeping and going to the shows. If you’re lucky you’ll be able to see your favorite band perform on stage while you’re relaxing in front of your tent. This is something that makes the OpenAir St.Gallen very special, besides the unique setting in the valley of the river Sitter surrounded by trees.
