Heartland Festival combines live talks and contemporary art with the greatest things from the music and food scene. The festival takes places at one of the most scenic places in Denmark; in the gardens surrounding Egeskov Castle on the island of Funen. Heartland Festival is created in collaboration with some of the most prominent and skillful people in their fields.
Heartland curates to a quality-driven and culturally interested audience. Festival director, Ulrik Ørum-Petersen says: “Heartland Festival is an attempt to create a festival unlike other existing festivals in Denmark. A festival that resembles successful international festivals such as ones seen in e.g. England and The Netherlands. To be able to create this type of festival in Denmark at one of the most beautiful spots in the world is a dream come true.“ VIVID TALKS AND GREAT CULINARY EXPERIENCES Heartland creates its program in collaboration with partners, curators, and advisors amongst the most capable in the country. Danish and international participants discuss and address the times we live in and the lives we lead today. When it comes to food, our ambition is to create unique experiences with emphasis on local produce and exclusive quality. CONTEMPORARY ART AND AN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC PROGRAM The aim with presenting contemporary art at Heartland Festival is to elaborate on the contrasts between contemporary art, an open air space, and a castle from the 16th century. |
